Today after getting up and having breakfast we lazed around for a bit. Then I found a Kangaroo lounging in a chair outside a house and went to took photos of it. The Kangaroo looked right at the camera and I swear it smiled! After that we sat around until lunch. After a lovely lunch we sat around. Then we hopped in the car and drove down to the lagoon.
When we arrived we unloaded the kayak and carried down to the water. Alan and Judy went for a paddle out of the lagoon. While they were gone we walked out onto he rocks and watched a guy fishing. He caught a small Angelfish and a good sized bream. Then we moved on and watched some people fishing from a boat. Just as we got there they caught a small Estuary Cod. After that they put out a small barracuda as bait. Suddenly the woman's rod went off. She seized it and tightened the drag. Then she wound and wound until a nice Mangrove Jack broke the surface. It would have been at least 3 pounds.
After watching them for about half an hour we headed back. On the way we looked for shells. I found a really nice cone shell with stripes. When we got to a sandy point Alan caught up with us and Dad and I hopped in. We rowed over the sand flats. Then Dad showed me a massive 3 metre whiptail ray. It's tail was 2.5 metres long and it wasn't troubled by our appearance at all. After a bit we rowed on. We rowed around a point and up the channel. Then we dragged the kayak to the car and drove back to the caravan.
After we arrived my sister and I went and had a shower. After we got back we went and saw this bush poetry thingy. It was hilarious. They poet was very skilled in writing poetry and treated us to poems that had me in tears of laughter. There were two which were my favourite. One was called 'The Man Who Couldn't Reverse' which was about a know it all bloke who backed his 27 foot van into the ladies toilet block. The other one was called 'A Fateful Days Fishing. It was about the poet when he looked around to find a barra fishing spot. He found someone who told him that he ate curry and went to a lagoon in the mooring. Then he let rip with a monster fart that knocked all the Barramundi in the lagoon out cold.
The poems were very, very funny. The end of the entertainment was over way too fast and before we knew it we were heading back to the caravan to have dinner. For dinner we had sausages and noodles. After dinner we wrote our blogs. Then we had dessert. For dessert we had some cookies. After dessert we went to bed.
